Veterinary Instrumentation Orthopaedic Symposium 2022

Saturday, 3rd September 2022 to Monday, 5th September 2022

Due to the continued border closure with our colleagues in Western Australia, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the Vi Symposium until later in the year. We understand how frustrating this decision will be for you and your teams, and hope that you will still be able to attend our event, which has been moved to the first week in September 2022.

The Inaugural Veterinary Instrumentation Orthopaedic Symposium - “Everything Thoracic Limb” is a two-day Orthopaedic Symposium designed to grow orthopaedic knowledge within your practice in order to “Do more and treat better”.

The Symposium is split into separate 2-day Veterinary and Nursing streams, with a practical workshop option on Day 3.

The Veterinary stream will incorporate five of Australia’s leading Orthopaedic Specialists and CPD presenters. It will explore in-depth the cervical spine, shoulder, elbow and carpus, using both presentation and small group, case-based and scientifically supported discussions. This aims to target the most common thoracic limb lameness cases seen in Australian small animal practice. This stream provides clinicians with improved practical knowledge surrounding lameness evaluation, investigation modalities and treatment options.

The Nursing stream will target all aspects of specialised Orthopaedic Veterinary Nursing, aiming to ensure clinic Orthopaedic patients are treated to Gold Standard care. Topics include anatomy and physiology, pre-anaesthesia checks, anaesthesia and pain relief for Orthopaedic patients, hospital care, physiotherapy, post-operative care and nutritional management.
Incorporating presentations from Orthopaedic Veterinary Specialists, leading Nursing and Surgical Nursing presenters, the Nursing stream will culminate with presentations on managing stress and resilience as a part of your own self-care.
